Repairing or Acquiring Credit
Credit
One of the primary essentials is having credit. Your credit
score
is based on:

30% is based on payment history, whether or
not you pay late or on time.
30% is based on how much debt you have
versus income. The greater the debt, the lower
the score.
15% is based on how long you have had credit.
15% is based on how often you apply for credit.
10% is based on how many accounts you have
open.

To operate your own business, you will need to repair bad
credit or build your credit. Creditors can file against your
business if you do not make arrangements to settle debt.

If you have never had any
credit problems, this will be
easier for you. Quite simply, a small credit card with a low
limit will be ok at first. Limit your spending and only use it for
business. Keep track of your spending and it's uses. You
will need to maintain good credit.

You will also need a checking or savings account. If you
have bad credit, some banks will not open an account for
you. If this is the case, you will need to have access to a
check cashing facility.

If you have had
credit problems in the past or have never
had any credit, we have a list of links you will find useful.
